Our focus for term is exploring how our past influences the present and our future. Later in the term we will be heading to Ferrymead Heritage Park, for a taste of what like was like in the early 1900's. Check out the cool weblinks in my last 2 blog posts.
We also have Life Ed visiting us. Our focus will be on a unit of work called 'A Balance Life'. I'm hoping this will help our kids make some good decisions around healthy eating. It worries me, the number of kids who don't bring a packed lunch to school, or don't want to eat what they have packed or bring a large packet of chips to see them through the day. Hopefully Harrold can help them see the importance of really good nutrition.
We have lots of sport opportunities this term. Our Friday afternoon sport continues at Lincoln, we have Mainland Football coming in, Cross Country, Rugby League, Hockey & Soccer tournaments to look forward to.
In the second half of Term 2, we have Elgregeo in to support our continual bully-free message, a teacher from the Christchurch Art Gallery to lead us in some intensive art sessions, and Waste Busters for learning about Sustainability.
At the end of this term parents will receive a Mid-Year Report on Reading, Writing & Maths. I hope you all have had a good look at your child's Ako & Blogger account. If you're not sure how, just ask your child, they are the experts.
