How Rocks are Formed

When Minerals and Crystal are compacted together they form a rock.Different rocks may stay on the surface of earth for longer periods than others.

firstly in the rock cycle is Volcanic rock, made up by lava and magma. lava is the name of melted rock on the earths surface. Magma is the liquid under the earths surface. It is warm and gloppy.

Secondly in the rock cycle is Sedimentary rock. This forms underwater when the river deposits the rock on the river bed.Over time the rock build sup and eventually the rock starts to appear above the water. This rock is so unique because you can see the layers of the rock..

Metamorphic rock is formed when rocks are compacted together by heat and pressure. The Sedimentary rock changes form into metamorphic rock.Metamorphic is a Greek word,Meta meaning change and Morph meaning form. This rock is so fragile that even the slightest movement of earth could change it so dramatically.

The rock cycle is so important to the development of life and construction and without rock we wouldn't have the life and the construction industry we have today.
