An alien spaceship has crashed into the Earth’s atmosphere. The space craft is badly damaged. The aliens inside have no information on the Earth’s atmosphere and the implications it may have on their lives. The aliens have no form and can manipulate themselves to suit their surroundings, but with no information they will not survive long!
Your quest is to help the aliens design a body that will enable them to survive in Antarctica. Take into consideration adaptations that animals use to survive in these environments.
An adaptation is a way an animal’s body helps it survive, or live, in its environment. Animals depend on their physical features to help them obtain food, keep safe, build homes, withstand weather, and attract mates. They make it possible for the animal to live in a particular place and in a particular way.
By researching these environments and the animals that live in these areas you will be able to design a body that will enable your alien to not only survive but thrive on Earth.
You will be able to represent your designs in the form of drawing and sculpture, taking into account the five elements of art: line, shape, form, texture and colour. To help you on your quest each page will assist and guide you through the processes needed to complete the quest successfully.
